Profile: Indian Cultural Association of Pittsburgh

Indian Cultural Association of Pittsburgh

ICAP ICAP or the Indian Cultural Association of Pittsburgh, was established in 1978 in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. As the first Asian Indian school in the Pittsburgh community, ICAP met the need for educating Indian students about their rich heritage and cultural values. Our focus at ICAP is to provide our students with knowledge of the Hindi language and the Indian culture. Our students range from first graders to high school seniors. Our organization relies on its member families for its proper functioning. It is the result of their dedication and participation that has led to the success of ICAP over the past 25 years. ICAP classes are held every Sunday morning (from September through June) at the YWCA North, 8500 Thompson Run Road, Pittsburgh (Allison Park), PA 15101. We are currently in the process of updating our website with a new look and feel and hence several of the pages are still under construction. However, feel free to browse through our website and do contact us with any questions. Our mission at ICAP is to teach our students about Indian Culture and to promote the Hindi language. We foster participation in community activities and events, thereby creating an awareness of our rich heritage and culture. We promote acceptance and understanding of other cultures and ethnic values.
