Jobing Description

Prepares and places orders for standard materials and products; selects and negotiates with approved vendors

Obtains materials from suppliers at lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need

Consults with technical team leadership and subject matter experts to ensure common understanding of organizations hardware and software resources

Maintains records of purchased items and associated costs; maintains other Purchasing records and files as required

Identifies sources and vendors

Follows up with vendors regarding order status and to expedite delivery and shipment

Negotiates return of defective materials

Updates employee database in ERP system

Skills / Requirements

Requires a minimum of four years’ Purchasing experience in computer literate office environment

AA degree in business may substitute for two years of experience

Detail-oriented, accurate

Ability to work flexible schedule

Ability to follow specific oral and written instructions

Successful candidates will be able to multi-task and have strong interpersonal and team skills

Experience in cost reduction analysis is a plus

Experience as a buyer, or equivalent position, purchasing technical assets including servers, network equipment, desktops and laptops, and maintenance and licensing agreements

Experience with MS Office and Internet Navigation

Experience with ERP Purchasing modules

Experience managing and tracking company assets
