Job: Counselor/Teacher

The Academy Schools is a network of award-winning schools for delinquent youth. Based in Western Pennsylvania and managed by leaders and innovators in the field of juvenile justice, these schools are both community-based and residential, serving both local and out-of-state students. Specifically, we are seeking teachers for the program and disciplines listed below.

The Academy Sanction Unit School (located near the South Side) is seeking a Math and Biology teacher to join our exceptional teaching staff to instruct our adjudicated male students. This full-time position provides a starting salary of $29,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including complimentary dining and parking privileges.

While experience with emotional support is beneficial, the desire to motivate, teach and inspire our youth is a requirement. In addition, candidates must possess either a PA Teaching Certification in Special Education, Math and Science OR a four-year degree with atleast 18 semester hours within the desisred discipline. Specific required disciplines include Special Education, Math and Science.

In addition, Child Abuse, Criminal History, FBI, Driver’s License and physical clearances are required upon hire.
