    The Manager of Business Intelligence & Analytics will utilize the latest analytics tools along with efficient data management and automation technologies to provide rue21 with key business insights and automated reporting processes. This role is pivotal in the strategic analytics roadmap, embracing key technology trends to support data initiatives and competitive advantage by creating a cohesive and flexible platform that will scale effectively to support future business growth.

    This role requires a highly motivated, organized and experienced professional, focused on business acumen, analytics and technology solutions with a proven record of process automation. The right candidate will be a strategic thinker who can serve as an effective translator between technical development teams and business users.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner in the development of long-term strategies for transitioning Analytics team from legacy tools and processes to scalable long-term solutions
    • Provide break-fix and enhancement support for existing and future BI tools, reports and dashboards
    • Motivate, lead and coach team members to increase their knowledge and performance
    • Ensure the BI team executes to near term and long-term roadmap deliverables
    • Build a vision for how the team should be organized and what types of roles we will need to succeed
    • Assist in designing and measuring new analysis/reporting processes
    • Study operational problems and prepare recommendations for improvement
    • Transform the business through technology, process improvement & business change management
    • Proven record of delivering technology solutions within agreed upon budgets and timeframes
    • Lead the business requirements gathering process from concept to execution
    • Facilitate the development of effective reporting processes and insightful analysis
    • Plan and coordinate the rollout of new tools via training and documentation
    • Quantify, track and prioritize the business value of projects

    Qualifications

    • BS / BA, preferably in Business, Computer Science or Information Systems
    • Strong interest and intellectual curiosity about data, databases and analytical modeling
    • 2+ years managing direct reports
    • 5+ years in a highly analytical, results-driven environment; retail industry experience preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Proven experience managing complex projects with technical partners and the business
    • Experience working with large, complex hierarchical data sets
    • Experience designing enterprise data architecture and ETL processes
    • Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices
    • Experience developing solutions in MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI or other enterprise BI tools
    • Experience with data analytics and visualization technologies
    • Extensive knowledge of reporting processes and ability to work with/learn a variety of analytic tools
    • Previous programming experience with R, Python, AI, Machine Learning, and process automation technologies is highly desirable
